Isaac Harris Cary Memorial Building
Lexington MA
The Cary Memorial Building is a 1927 public meeting hall that holds a prominent location in Lexington. The facility was built as “a fireproof building adapted to and suitable for the safe storing and care of revolutionary relics and treasures . and to contain a hall adapted to lectures and public meetings.”
Mills Whitaker Architects was retained to evaluate and rehabilitate this facility to improve the 800-seat auditorium, historic exhibit spaces, multi-use meeting rooms, building systems and accessibility provisions while integrating them into the historic fabric. The improvements better serve the needs of Town Meeting, Lexington Symphony Orchestra, celebrity concerts and a variety of other public events.
