First Church in Roxbury
First Church in Roxbury
This 1804 Federal Style Meeting House is one of the oldest wooden church buildings in Boston. Located in John Eliot Square, a National Register Historic District, the campus includes the 1804 Sanctuary, 1876 Putnam Chapel and 2004 Urban Ministry Center. In an effort to revitalize and preserve the Meeting House, which is the fifth church building to occupy the site, Historic Boston Incorporated retained Mills Whitaker Architects to assess existing conditions of the historic structures and provide an illustrated planning report to guide restoration efforts and communicate facility needs to funding agencies and potential donors.
